Game of thrones white walker/others theory – It’s all Benjen’s fault

Game of thrones white walker/others theory

“There must always be a stark ar winterfell” do you think this is what woke the white walkers? They said the whites/others were sleeping and something “woke” them. We know the stark family (like the targaryens) have a magical bloodlines, eg power to warg ect. So what im thinking is what ever deal the first men (decendents of the starks) made was part of this pact. During Robert’s rebellion there may not have been a stark at winterfell and that could have started the events to unfold… ideas?

In this video rob makes it clear. You must stay within the walls.

Benjen was said to be in winterfell at this time but pretty much immediately took the black after Ned’s return for mysterious reasons. For all we know, Benjen left Winterfell and did something, breaking the pact. After that he went to the wall to serve for his crimes.

– 8,000 BAL – The Long Night. Under the cover of darkness, the White Walkers invade Westeros from the uttermost north, causing immense suffering and destruction. The Children and the First Men unite to defeat the Walkers, eventually throwing them back into the north. A great leader named Brandon Stark raises the Wall with artifice and magic to bar against the Walkers’ return. He also founds the castle of Winterfell, founds House Stark and the Night’s Watch and, according to some, is named as the first King in the North.

Its said the ‘Azor Ahai’ drove the White Walkers into the north once more. Once the White Walkers were banished north, the Long Night ended. Azor Ahai left many prophesies which are included in the show. Prophesy told that Azor Ahai would one day be reborn whenever the need to fight the White Walkers reoccurred. This new Azor Ahai is refered to as ‘The Prince that was promised’. In the show, Melisandre believed that Stannis Baratheon was the Prince that was promised but it is now believed that this may be Jon Snow. However, for this prophesy to be true means another Long Night is soon to come to Westeros. The ancient text of Asshai states the following regarding the oncoming Long Night:

“There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him.”

It is known that the White Walkers must remain in the north, so some kind of barrier was required. Hence, The Wall was forged. Branden Stark (also known as Bran the Builder) built with wall with the help of magic from The Children of the Forest. This magic was said to ensure that the wall was unbreakable so the White Walkers would never be able to pass back into the south again. Soon after the wall was built, the Nights Watch was established to man the wall and keep watch over the creatures in the north to watch for any signs of another attack from the undead.
